Centre Food Menus Update

We are constantly reviewing and updating our food menus to ensure we supply a nutritional menu keeping in mind children’s health and development.

Our current week’s menu for BSC, ASC & VC is always displayed at the Service as well as being posted on on Facebook page the weekend before

During this term our focus is going to be promoting healthy eating choices in our breakfast menu as well as our afternoon snacks and we will be doing many activities with the children that will help support them to make healthy choices for the rest of their life.

Our Breakfast Menu consists of:

Cereals – WeetBix, Wholemeal Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Rice Bubbles

Yoghurt/Fruit & Berries

Wholemeal toast and spreads

Water & Low Fat Milk

Our Afternoon Snack Menu consists of a variety of foods over different days and may consist of:

Wraps, Sandwiches, Rice Cakes, Cruskits, Popcorn, Corn Chips, Crackers, Salsa, Dips

Yoghurt, Cheese, Fruit (both fresh and dried) & Vegetables

Water is available throughout the whole session.

If you would like to make any suggestions towards the menu or our policy (currently under review) please email feedback@ktoosh.com.au.

How we can continue supporting the Community of Cobar. Buy a Cow or a Calf!!!!!

When we visited the country town of Cobar they were so appreciative of our generous donation.  During these hot summer days they are still really struggling……

This year we will be continuing to assist the community through IGA Cobar Gift Voucher instead of grocery donations which will be purchased from all our “Buy a Cow or a Calf” donations.  Our Return & earn program will also continue for the year and monies raised from these will be included in the donations to Cobar.  Please look at the pictures on site of all the things our centres donated including blankets made by the children and bath mats.

Donations have been made easier, you can purchase a Cow for $10.00 or a Calf for $5.00, or both!

Simply email your centre email and request one for your child/ren.  Please state if your would like a Cow or a Calf.  Your donation will be added to your account and charged in the following billing cycle.  Once purchased, a Cow or Calf will be sent to the centre with your child/ren’s name on them to colour in, write their name and place it up on the display.  We are aiming to sell over 500 cows and 500 calves and will keep you updated on the running tally over the months through the Cobar Go Fund Me page.  Please refer to the Go Fund Me link on the centres Facebook page which has been reposted.

KT OOSH is in the process of recreating our Farmers display and the Return & Earn bins are under the display.  Please leave all Return & Earn collections of cans & bottles in the green tubs.

****** Infectious Disease ******

Please be a aware there has been a confirmed case of Whooping Cough (Pertussis) within the service.  This was confirmed via swab testing results being positive.

Attached is an information fact sheet that outlines symptoms and treatment of Whooping Cough (Pertussis).  Please read through the attachment and contact us immediately should you have any concerns.  Should your child show any symptoms then please take them straight to a doctor for swab testing.  Your child must not then return to KT OOSH until a swab test result is obtained from the doctor and a clearance certificate is supplied.

Whooping Cough Fact Sheet (Pertussis)

Whooping Cough Symtoms (Pertussis)

Whooping Cough Poster (Pertussis)

As per our policies and a condition of enrolment, KT OOSH Services must be advised if any child contracts a contagious illness immediately.  This includes whilst results are being obtained or upon diagnosis.  This is for the safety of not only your child but other children that attend the service also.

Kind Regards,

2019 Full Enrolment Form (For new siblings requiring a position in 2019)

It will be families responsibility to ensure they re-enrol by the specified date.  Failure to do so will mean their position at the service will become available to the next family on the waitlist.  There will be NO exceptions to this as care is in very high demand…….  In addition there will be a $5.00 administration fee for every re-enrolment processed and a $25.00 administration charge for all new sibling enrolments that are processed.

Re-enrolment will ONLY be executed via email to the applicable centre email address.  If you do not have a scanning facility available then please contact our Head Office on 02 8814 7610 to gain further instruction or download a scanner app on your smart phone.  Under no circumstances will re-enrolment and enrolment forms be excepted at the centres.  As email is our main communication tool, please check your emails regulary to avoid disappointment…….

KT OOSH Services Location – RHAC 2018

Due to the increase in numbers and the limited space available for the children, the school and KT OOSH Services will be relocating years 3 -> 6 to J Block in 2018.  This will give the children a bigger outside play area and also freeing up A Block outside area for the younger children.  Suggestions and ideas were gained from the children also at the end of Term 4 and they are excited about the change in location instead of working out of the school library.

Both the school and KT OOSH Services understand that this maybe an inconvenience if you have two pickup/drop off locations but under our regulations we cannot continue to operate out of the library with the volume of children attending.

Kindergarten -> Year 2 students will remain down in A Block as normal.

PLEASE NOTE: There maybe times where the service has to be consolidated but families will be informed via our Facebook page of any last minute changes.
