How is my gap fee removed

Once advised by the department we had the option to waive the gap fee for our families not attending the services we made the decision that this is what we would do to assist during these challenging times.

This came into effect week commencing Monday 19th July, 2021.

We will continue to send statements of entitlements fortnightly whether you have fees owing or not so you can keep up to date where your account is at this includes any non notification charges.

On the transaction pages towards the back of your statement of entitlement you will see your gap fees charged per day whoever you will also see a line item dated the Monday following the previous week with the weekly gap fee is reversed back per child per AM or PM session.  The transaction description will be “COVID 19 Waiving Fee 21_22”.  This is the only way we have been authorised by the department to reverse the gap fee.

Invoicing for week commencing 2nd August, 2021

At time of invoicing last week Wednesday 21st July, 2021 only children that were still marked as attending were invoiced for week commencing Monday 2nd August, 2021 which was part of the normal fortnightly period at the time.

It is imperative if you are not attending and do not want to be invoiced next week for August that you mark your children’s absences now through your “My Family Lounge” app on your smartphone.

RHAC Centre Philosophy

It is that time of the year again where we need to review our centre philosophy and we need your help in doing this.

Our centre philosophy is designed to:

1. Underpin the decisions, policies and daily practices of the service

2. Reflect a shared understanding of the role of the service among educators, children, families and the community; and

3. Guide teaching, planning and practices when implementing the educational program.

Please see the below link to review our current centre philosophy. We ask that you read through it to make sure that it meets your expectations of the centre. If you have any feedback that you would like to see added, changed, or taken away, please email rhac@ktoosh.com.au

RHAC Centre Philosophy

Some questions that we use to help us review the philosophy are:

1. Why is quality childcare important?

2. How do we advocate for children’s rights?

3. What is the importance of children’s play for school age children?

4.What do the terms health, safety and child protection mean to you?

5. How do we support and maintain the environment?

6. How do we support the local and wider community?

We appreciate and look forward to any feedback received.

Increase to the NON NOTIFICATION charge

Effective from Monday 16th August, 2021 there will be an increase to the Non Notification Charge for failure to advise of an absent child.

The charge effective from Monday 16th August, 2021 will be $17.50 per child, per session.

This is a charge that can be avoided, simply mark your child absent when they are not attending the service and we are expecting them.

Why do I have to mark absences

It is all enrolled families responsibility to ensure they are marking their children absent via their “My Family Lounge” app on their smartphone for all sessions they have booked but will not be attending.  This is for both BSC and ASC sessions and also for each child enrolled.  KT OOSH Services will no longer mark absences on your behalf whether it be notified via text to the centre or email.

Failure to mark absences WILL result in non notification charges being applied per child, per session.

As KT OOSH Services is an approved child care provider, we receive government money to assist our families that are eligible with Child Care Benefits.  This being the case for transparency with the government, all families must mark their own absences and we can no longer do this on your behalf.

Mark your absences NOW

As you are aware, the current lockdown has been extended and home schooling remains in place at present until Friday 27th August, 2021.

All families that are not sending their children to school for this period MUST log into their “My Family Lounge” app on their smartphone and update their attendances to absent for all current schedules they have booked for BSC (Before School Care) & ASC (After School Care).  I think everyone is proficient at doing this by now but if not, click on the FAQ in the box above and refer to “How to Mark Absences”

DONT FORGET…..  to access your August bookings, swipe across to the August calendar.

Again, we would like to thank our families that are actioning this requests as soon as we ask.
